Place mixed paper in a bag. What Items Can I Put in My Tote?
Newspaper, Magazines, Envelopes, Binders, Catalogs, Paper Egg Crates, Books (Hard and Soft Cover), Cereal and other Dry Food Boxes, Cardboard, Shoe boxes, Pizza Boxes, Paper Towel and Toilet Paper Tubes. Cardboard too large to fit in your tote must be flattened and placed underneath your tote. (No wax coated items please)
#2 Plastic Products
Soda, laundry, salad dressing, condiments, milk jugs and more can be recycled. Just look for the recycling symbol with a number 1-7 in the middle, rinse the container, and place loose in your tote. Please keep in mind the following:

All bottles must be empty or they will not be taken.

Please remove and throw away all hard plastic lids from bottles, jars, and other containers as they cannot be taken at this time.

#3 Metal Products
You know what these are, beverage containers (pop, juice and beer) made of 100% aluminum. Of course they must be emptied of contents and free of foreign materials. Labels do not need to be removed, but we won't complain if you do.
Steel and Tin Cans—Beverage Cans, Food Cans, Aerosol Cans.—Please Rinse First
Clean Aluminum Food Packaging—Pie Plates, Dinner Trays, Foil. Please Rinse First.

These are all food and drink containers only and need to be emptied of contents, rinsed and free of foreign materials. Only bottles and jars may be recycled. Please handle with care. Please remove and throw away lids.
#5 Other Recyclable Materials
The FOLLOWING HOUSEHOLD ITEMS CANNOT BE PLACED IN YOUR BLUE TOTE, but may be recycled conveniently in Buena Vista.Auto Recyclers (1400 Sycamore Avenue, Buena Vista) is now accepting all of the items listed below at no charge. Anyone can drop these items off during regular business hours on location
Computer unit w/hard drive *Monitor (Must accompany a complete computer system with CPU, keyboard, mouse, and all cables: monitors that are not with a complete computer system there will be $5.00 charge per monitor)

All Cables and Outlet Surge Protectors
Printers (with or without cartridges)
Back-up Power Supplies
Laptop Computers
Fax Machines
Telephones (stationary and cordless, batteries can be left in the cordless)
CD’s (With or without Plastic Jacket)
iPods & MP3 players
All material will be recycled to reclaim the plastic, metals, and glass. Auto Recyclers will not remarket any computer hard drives, monitors, or whole computers other countries for reuse. All hard drives we be certified destroyed before leaving the facility. Auto Recyclers business hours for drop off are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-2pm.
Electronics—E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled. Please note that televisions and cathode ray tube (CRT) computer monitors should not be placed in the household trash. There may be a fee to recycle some electronics.
